THUMB TENDON RELASE
Thumb tendon release or De Quervain's Release is a safe reliable procedure. A 1 inch incision is made over the thumb side of the wrist. The tunnel overlying the thumb tendons is released and the tendons are cleaned. This procedure can be completed with local anesthetic and a tourniquet.

The procedure usually takes about 10-15 minutes and is closed with an absorbable suture. A splint is left on for 7 days and then removed in the office.
