Metacarpal fractures can occur after trauma. They often present with pain and swelling.

Treatment is dependent on multiple factors that can be evaluated in the office with x-rays and physical examination
​
Non-operative treatment options:
Buddy taping and bracing and early motion therapy
Splinting or casting
​
Operative treatment options:
Pinning or plating of bones
​
There is a wide variety of treatment options, we will discuss them in detail as well as your post-operative rehab protocol if we decide on surgery.
